A seminar entitled "Religious Support- Dialectics of Religion and Politics in the Islamic State until 656 Hijri"

 

On Wednesday 09/12/2020, the Department of History, College of Arts, University of Basra organized a seminar entitled "Religious Support- Dialectics of Religion and Politics in the Islamic State up to the year 656 Hijri

The seminar presented by Dr. Hisham Al-Rubaie and doctoral student Muhammad Abboud Mahdi. It included a discussion of the concept of religious consolidation and its use in the historical experience and across the political path, as well as an explanation of the mechanisms of religious support used in the Qur’an texts and hadiths.

The seminar aims to demonstrate the political use of religion as a basic pillar of power, i.e. the consolidation of the sacred within the religious and political movement.

 The seminar recommended that such modernist studies are directed to the Department of History, in order to raise the

scientific output of the department to a better level.
