The Organizational Structure

 

The organizational structure is one of the foundations of building a scientific edifice represented by a solid foundation that is built on the need and tasks of the administration, as well as the teaching staff and the requirements for the success of the work in the department, as follows:

 

The Department Building

It is part of a complex that includes three scientific departments and includes the office of the Head of the Department and the secretary. It also includes six rooms for faculty members, a computers lab, and an environmental lab, as well as a room for the examination committee and a hall for conducting scientific seminars and discussions of postgraduate studies. The department also includes two large classrooms for postgraduate studies, seven classrooms for undergraduate studies, a store and service room.

 

The Department’s Teaching Staff

There are 30 instructors in various natural and human geographical specializations at the department, including six professors, seven assistant professors, sixteen lecturers, and only one assistant lecturer.

 

The Department Employees

There are five permanent employees and one contracted employee.

 

Head of the Department

Many eminent scientific personalities have held the position of the Head of the Geography Department since its establishment, for example, the late Dr. Majid Al-Sayed Wali - Dr. Abdul Ali Al-Khafaf - Dr. Mudhar Al-Omar - Dr. Saud Abdul-Aziz, and other geographic figures up to the present time as the department is headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Hamid Attia Abdul Hussein Al-Jourani.
