According to the directives of the President of the University of Basrah, the scientific assistant in our college, Prof. Dr. Hyder Abdul-Redha Hassan, visited the College of Arts / Al-Maaqal University. Through a field tour accompanied by the Dean of the College of Arts at the above mentioned university, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Mazloum, we were closely informed about the logistical and academic situation of the college and we made the following observations:

1- The great development of the infrastructure of the university and the College of Arts in particular in terms of classrooms, their conformity with international standards and their capacity compared to the number of students actually registered in the college at a ratio of (142/200).

2- The college’s implementation of all security and medical protection conditions, especially regarding to safety and prevention conditions of (Covid 19).

3- The university’s distinguished location on the banks of the port of Al-Maaqal, the city center and a lively street that connects the pulsating artery of Basrah, which facilitates the task of students registered in this university.

4- The number of classrooms actually available in the college is (8) with a capacity of (60) students.

5- The college - unfortunately - has only one department, which is the English language department.

6- The number of the total teaching staff in the department mentioned above is (15) professors with different scientific titles, most of them are professors and postgraduate students of the College of Arts who are known for their integrity and scientific reputation.
