The Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Hamid Al-Kaabi, met with the delegation of the German Goethe Institute, and they discussed ways of academic and cultural cooperation with the German side in several projects, including translation, teaching the German language, and the establishment of the German cultural corner, as well as working to set a later date for the German cultural week at the University of Basrah / College of Arts.

On the margins of the meeting, contemporary academic literary issues were discussed, including German Orientalism, contemporary international translation issues and other topics that were raised in the presence of the German translator (Larisa Binder).
