A participation of an Instructor from the College of Arts in the Basra International Book Fair

Within the activities of the Basra International Book Fair, first session, 2021, entitled the Badr Shaker Al-Sayyab session, sponsored by Al-Mada Foundation for Media, Culture and Arts, the Ass.Prof.Dr. Sana Sabah Ali, an instructor in our college, administered  the session held by the Women’s Cultural Forum, which is its first session on 10/22/2021, in which its establishment was announced by the experienced Professor Dr. Lahai Abdel Hussein, Dr. Ibtihal Khajik and Mrs. Rafah Hussein Baher Al-Hilali. The announcement included a brief summary about Its formations, mechanisms, goals and ambitions that the Women’s Cultural Forum seeks to achieve. Among the forum’s activities,  a semi-annual book is issued. It is specialized in women’s issues, determining their the social role, the cultural perspective and the function of each of them in general, and in particular the emphasis on the cultural aspect of feminism, according to the experienced professor Dr. Lahaye, and related topics. Moreover, Dr. Ibtihal spoke about many of the activities and events that she started as part of the work of the Women’s Cultural Forum, and the professor and lawyer Rafah as well refer to the need to reconsider some texts of laws that were not considered appropriate at the present time, in a serious and hopeful endeavor, announcing that the establishment of the first feminist cultural forum in Iraq. Finally, the session witnessed a wide presence which was very keen to listen to those kinds of ideas and visions.
