The Scientific Cooperation with Scientific Societies and Civil Society Organizations Unit in Basrah Governorate, in cooperation with the College of Arts / University of Basrah, organized on Wednesday 27/10/2021 in the conference hall a symposium entitled Academic journals, a cultural and scientific platform and a genuine contributor to the evaluation of university performance.

The symposium aims to link the humanities academic journals into a unity of purpose, to develop the work of academic journals through the proposals put forward by the heads of editorial boards participating in the symposium and to research and overcome obstacles to scientific publishing.

The symposium included the role of editorial boards in selecting and evaluating scientific research and the percentages of evaluation of scientific research between rejection and acceptance. It also touched on scientific research methods and their impact on achieving the desired results of scientific research and the sobriety of the journal, as well as emphasizing the quality, importance and originality of research.

 The researchers called for the necessity of communication between the editorial boards at all times and to communicate with scientific and foreign journals in the field of scientific research and scientific publishing.
