The College of Arts Holds a Symposium Entitled Beggary between Professing, Crime and the Unknown Future

Under the patronage of the President of Basrah University, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Dr. Majid Abdul Hamid Al Kaabi, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Haider Abdul Ridha, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Public Relations and Media Unit \ College of Arts at Basrah University and the Basrah Governorate Police Directorate, held a symposium entitled “Beggary between Professing, Crime and the Unknown Future” on Thursday, 28/10/2021.

The symposium aims to shed light on the phenomenon of beggary in Iraq and to address the methods and forms of beggary, try to reduce and eliminate it in cooperation with the media, and spread awareness methods through speeches, seminars and lectures to reduce this phenomenon.

 The symposium recommended tightening and doubling the punishment for beggars, tightening the punishment for those who pretend being disabled, and supporting the government for organizations that help poor families to reduce this phenomenon.
