An instructor at the College of Arts - University of Basrah, Dr. Abdul Salam Abdul Majeed Al-Oqaili, has published a book on consecutive interpretation, entitled:

 A Guide to Consecutive Interpretation

The book aims to increase students' knowledge of the basics of consecutive interpretation, improve students' speaking and listening skills, and develop other skills that consecutive interpreters always need.

The book consisted of 110 pages, divided on seven chapters.  The first chapter included the basics of consecutive interpretation from understanding, analysis and re-expression.  The second chapter outlines the skills that consecutive interpreters always need. The third chapter went on to shed light on the nature of multiplicity in the consecutive interpreter’s role. As for the fourth chapter, it was devoted to the method of consecutive interpretation in front of the audience.  The fifth chapter deals with the importance of decisiveness in consecutive interpretation .  The sixth chapter included the avoidance of ambiguity in consecutive interpretation.  Finally, chapter seven focused on connecting sentences using conjunctions.

The book was printed in Beirut by Dar Al Maaref for University Books.
