On Thursday, 11/11/2021, Mr. Gabriel Young, a doctoral candidate in history and Middle Eastern studies at New York University, and his colleague Camille Cole, a post-doctoral fellowship owner at Cambridge University, visited the College of Arts.

They met with the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Hameed Al Kaabi, and the research cooperation with the College was emphasized. Dr. Najat Abdel Karim accompanied them to the central library at Bab Al Zubair site to view the resources in the library. They met with the library's administrative assistant, Mr. Haitham Zaki, who introduced them to the library and the services it provides. They were briefed on the sources related to their research, and they were provided with resources, especially electronic ones.

The visit was part of a study program for them to the city of Basrah and its libraries, and a visit to the University of Basrah to meet with professors of modern and contemporary history.
