Basrah University Organizes a Lecture Entitled Reconstruction of Basrah Date Trade

On Sunday, November 14, 2021, the College of Arts organized a lecture entitled (Reconstruction of Basrah Date Trade and the Relationship between the Central State and Local Capitalists During the Global Crisis 1930/1939)

The lecture aims to highlight two axes.

The first axis dealt with introducing the researcher and his work and meeting with postgraduate students in the College of Arts / Department of History for the sake of scientific communication. As for the second axis, the research discussed communicating with foreign researchers to know their approach in studying the events of Iraq.

The lecture included the interest of American universities in studying the history of Iraq, especially Basrah, hence the research entitled (Basra's Economic and Social History 1921/1968).

The researcher presented the first chapter of his thesis entitled (Reconstruction of Basrah Date Trade and the Relationship between the Central State and Local Capitalists During the Global Crisis 1930/1939) and a chapter on how the relationship between date traders and the central state and how the global economic crisis affected date traders and the government's shift to supporting the dates sector and providing loans, especially after the economic crisis is over.
