On Tuesday 16/11/2021, the Department of Philosophy at the College of Arts/ University of Basrah organized a panel discussion entitled Perception.

The panel discussion, in which the assistant lecturer Haider Mahdi Ahmed lectured, aims to highlight the process of sensory perception as one of the mental processes and its close relationship with our behavior because our behavior depends on how we perceive things, people and social systems that surround us, such that the young child is not afraid of much of what we fear as adults, because his/her perception is different from ours.

The panel discussion dealt with clarification of the most important differences between sensation and perception, as well as the impact of many external and internal factors affecting perception.

The panel discussion touched on the first school of psychology that studied perception which is the Gestalt school.
