The Scientific Cooperation with Scientific Societies and Civil Society Organizations Unit in Basrah Governorate, in cooperation with the College of Arts, organized on Wednesday 17/11/2021 a symposium entitled Electronic blackmail, its means, types, and risks towards community peace.

The symposium aims to protect society from electronic blackmail.

The symposium included a definition of cybercrime, the dangers of cybercrime, and proposed solutions.

In the symposium, the researchers called for several elements, the most important of which are:

1- Explanation of the dimensions of the Penal Code and subsequent legislation regarding rights, freedoms, and privacy.

2- Focusing on continuous dialogues with different segments of society.

3- Coordination with the community police and the cybercrime unit regarding the exchange of information and solving problems.
