Poetry Readings for Students of the Department of Arabic

Among the activities held by the students of the Department of Arabic/ Evening Studies, and in the presence of the Dean of the College of Arts, Dr. Majid Al Kaabi, and some instructors from the Department of Arabic, a poetry session was held on the department’s gardens, at the same time with the Student Book Fair, in which some students presented various poems.

The session began with reciting Surat Al-Fatihah on the souls of the martyrs, then listening to the national anthem.

The poems were characterized by sadness due to the terrorist incident that happened on Tuesday in Basrah, as well as the love for the homeland and the call to renounce political differences and go towards creating a brighter and more prosperous future.

The readings were presented by the student Habeeb Waheed Al-Salihi, and a group of students of the second stage of the evening study participated in the reading of the poems, these students are Abbas Jassim Al-Fraiji, Shifah Nazem Al-Mahoud, Dirgham Hamad Al-Mariani, Zaidoun Muhammad Ali and Hassan Aqeel.
