The Department of History at the College of Arts/ University of Basrah organized a course on the Ottoman Salnamat.

The course aimed to teach master students about the Ottoman salnamat, what it is and how to use it.

The course in which Dr. Zahraa Hameed Khalil lectured included the types of Ottoman documents, how to distinguish between them, and ways to use them.

It was recommended in the course to teach master students how to deal with the Ottoman salnamat and use it, and to present examples of the Ottoman salnamat to raise the level of Ottoman studies in the College of Arts.
