Discussion of the Student Iman Adnan Saleh’s Thesis

On Sunday morning, 9/1/2022, at the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies, a master thesis entitled “Information Marketing and its Services in Advisory Centers and Offices at the University of Basrah: a field study” was discussed.

The thesis presented by the student Iman Adnan Saleh included four chapters. The first chapter discussed the general framework of the study, the second chapter included the role of marketing in developing information services, the third chapter discussed the field study of the thesis, and the fourth chapter dealt with the results and recommendations.

The thesis aims to identify the concept of marketing information and services provided in scientific and research centers and advisory offices in the University of Basrah, and it concluded that the information services provided in the scientific and research centers were weak.

The thesis recommended the need to provide information services in the centers and libraries of the centers in a wider way, because the services currently provided are very few, especially the translation service, the bibliographic service and other services.
