Discussion of the Student Shaima Taher Jassim’s Thesis

On Monday morning, 10/1/2021, at the Department of Geography and Geographical Information Systems at the College of Arts / University of Basrah, a master thesis entitled “Assessment of community services in the city of Ali Al-Gharbi” was discussed.

The thesis presented by the student Shaima Taher Jassim included three chapters. The first chapter dealt with the demographic characteristics of the city of Ali Al-Gharbi, and was divided into two sections, the first dealt with the population growth and distribution of the city of Ali Al-Gharbi, and the second dealt with the population structure of the city of Ali Al-Gharbi.

While the second chapter dealt with the historical development of community services in the city of Ali Al-Gharbi and their spatial distribution, and it was also devided into two sections, the first dealt with the historical development of community services in the city of Ali al-Gharbi, and the second dealt with the spatial distribution of community services in the city of Ali al-Gharbi.

While the third chapter dealt with the evaluation of the efficiency of community services in the city of Ali Al-Gharbi and the assessment of current needs. It was divided into two sections, the first dealt with assessing the efficiency of community services in the city of Ali Al-Gharbi, and the second dealt with estimating the current and future needs of community services in the city of Ali Al-Gharbi.

The thesis aims to analyze the reality of community services in the city of Ali al-Gharbi, to identify the distribution of community services, and to evaluate the efficiency of community services in the city of Ali al-Gharbi, based on a number of local criteria.
