Prof. Dr. Salma Abdul-Hameed Al-Hashemi, Director of the Promotions Unit and the instructor at the Department of History at the College of Arts / University of Basrah, participated in the meeting of the Central Promotions Committee held in the Deanship of the College of Medicine.

The meeting, which was chaired by Prof. Dr. Abdul-Zahra Al-Helou and members of the central promotion committees at the university, came to discuss a number of promotions and their approval for Basrah University professors from various specializations and for different academic titles (professor, assistant professor, and instructor).

The Promotions Committee was received by the Dean and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs of the College of Medicine, where the Dean gave a welcome speech in appreciation of the efforts made by the promotions committees in accomplishing many scientific promotions with diligent and sincere work and overcoming many problems facing professors to complete their promotions.

For her part, Dr. Salma presented some ideas and visions that serve the steps of promotion, facilitate its work and reduce the burden on professors. At the same time, she thanked the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and its keenness to overcome difficulties and activate scientific sobriety in this field, which is considered one of the most important knowledge and institutional facilities in the scientific direction in the country.
