On Monday morning, 21/2/2022, a master thesis entitled (Health Centers in the Main Cities of Basra Governorate) was discussed at the Department of Geography and Geographical Information Systems at the College of Arts / University of Basrah.

The thesis presented by the student Hadi Adnan Qassem Shayal included four chapters. The first chapter discussed the theoretical approach and some demographic characteristics, the second chapter included the spatial organization of the attractive health centers, the third chapter discussed the areas of spatial influence of the attractive centers, and the fourth chapter deals with the most important factors affecting the attraction.

The thesis aims to identify the discovery of the sites of attraction that provide health services, study their spatial distribution, find out the need for new institutions, and know the most attractive centers, the reasons for this as well as other goals.

The thesis concluded that the distribution of health institutions that provide health services is random and there is a severe shortage in their number.

The thesis recommended the necessity of redistributing institutions and increasing their numbers, and providing more effective facilities for the private sector to work on private health projects.
