With the aim of strengthening the spirit of cooperation between the Department of History and civil society institutions, under the supervision and follow-up of the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Hameed Al Kaabi, a number of the department’s professors and students organized a voluntary visit to Basra Children’s Specialized Hospital. They were received by the technical director in the hospital administration, Mr. Anwar Hamza Abbas and the doctor responsible for treating sick children and a number of its officials.

The delegation toured the hospital halls and gifts were presented to the children. Doctors, hospital employees and the children’s families expressed their thanks and appreciation for this visit because of its positive psychological impact on the health of the hospitalized children and raising their morale and happiness by this initiative, which brought joy and hope to the patients.

At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation expressed its thanks and appreciation to the hospital administration and the medical staff for the great efforts they exert in treating the children and ensuring their comfort and their good reception, wishing them a speedy recovery and praying to God to bless them with health and wellness.
