Basrah University Organizes a Symposium on the Epidemiological Ward and Community Safety

The Department of History at the College of Arts - University of Basrah organized an awareness-raising scientific symposium entitled Epidemiological Ward and Community Safety and the most prominent tasks it performs to provide health care to patients.

The symposium aimed to identify the role played by the epidemiological ward at Basra General Hospital in light of the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic, as well as an explanation of the services provided by this ward in order to maintain the safety of society.

The symposium, which was presented by Dr. Munther Jalil Abd al-Abbas, a specialist in chest and respiratory diseases, and moderated by Dr. Araa Jassem Muhammad al-Mudhaffar, included information related to the Corona virus and ways of spreading infection in society, and the role played by the epidemiological ward in preventing this virus and other transitional diseases.

 

The symposium recommended the following:

1. The necessity of paying attention to and developing the health sector and providing the highest levels of health protection for the Iraqi society.

2. Adhering to the instructions of the Supreme Committee for Health and National Safety regarding ways to prevent coronavirus.

3. Strengthening the relationship between the health sector and the university due to the importance of this in prevention and spreading health awareness among the rest of the community.
