Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Hameed Al Kaabi, and under the supervision of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul Redha Al-Tamimi and the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abd Kazem Al-Khafaji, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Music Department at the College of Fine Arts, organized a scientific symposium entitled (Music and its Effective Role in the Scientific and Cognitive Productions of Humans).
The symposium aims to clarify that music is the tangible embodiment of audible beauty, and without it, man will become a dry, deserted, empty being, and a body without his soul. Civilizations throughout human history have been interested in music, as it is a necessary and urgent need for man, and this led to the development of music until it reached what it reached through geniuses who believed in this art and worked to develop and add to it. Music and musicians have always had the greatest impact on human life, regardless of gender, religion, race or language.
The symposium included several topics, the most important of which were:
1- Music in Nietzsche's thought.
2- The role of graduates of the Conservatory of Music in Baghdad on the reality of Arabic music.
3- Music and its psychological and cognitive impact on the individual.
4- Trying to see music visually through poetry.
5- Technical works of music in postmodern arts.
6- Environmental Impact of Music.
In the symposium, the researchers called for the musical art to have an important place in the stages of human thought.
It is an art that contributes to the renewal of ideas in addition to reviving hope and love of life in us. It expresses the development of peoples and their civilizations and has an effective role in various scientific and literary productions.
