Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul Redha Al-Tamimi, the Women Empowerment Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts / University of Basrah, organized a cultural symposium entitled (Pioneers of Success in Our Beloved Basra) on Tuesday 15/3/2022.

The symposium, organized by Dr. Naima Latif Abdullah and presented by Prof. Dr. Azhar Ali Yassin, aims to shedding light on the foundations of success, empowering women in the university and society, and narrating empowered women stories to be seen as role models and examples of success and empowerment in all fields.

The symposium included several topics, the most important of which were the pioneers of success in our beloved Basra, where a group of university professors and community leaders in governmental and non-governmental institutions supported women and encouraged them to move forward in the foundations of success and excellence in society.
