The Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies at the College of Arts / University of Basrah organized a panel discussion entitled (Electronic Library in the Central Library at the University of Basrah).

The panel discussion, in which the instructor Tariq Taha Abboud lectured, aimed to identify and study the reality of the electronic library in the Central Library in terms of the number of existing human resources, which are 4, one of whom holds a bachelor’s certificate in information and libraries, one a teachers institution certificate, one a technical institution certificate, and one a high school certificate, and in terms of electronic information sources in the library which are 468 books, 44 periodicals, and 14 thousand theses. The electronic library is available to all researchers in their various specializations for a thousand dinars per CD.

Among the problems and obstacles that the library suffers from, the computers are old, the furniture is old, and most of the cooling devices are out of order, and there is no financial support for the library.
