The Department of Translation at the College of Arts hosted Assistant Prof. Dr. Aqil Abd Muhammad Abbas, Professor of International Finance / Department of Banking and Finance at the College of Administration and Economics on Sunday 3/4/2022 in a lecture on translation into Arabic for the second stage taught by instructor Salwa Adnan Halim.

The simplified lecture presented by Dr. Abbas included an explanation of some of the concepts that were mentioned in an economic text for translation from English into Arabic, and through which he explained the meaning of banks, fines and money markets. He also explained the concept of executive bonuses, the collapse of money markets, and exposed guarantees.

Dr. Abbas called on the students to learn more about these concepts because of their direct relationship to the labor market, which is the main field in dealing with these concepts and then the texts.  For her side, the Head of the Department, Prof. Zainab Sami, asked Dr. Abbas to give other lectures for this stage and for the third stage, which includes this subject at an advanced level, due to its importance in translating economic and commercial texts.
