Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Hameed Al-Kaabi, the Departments of Translation and History at the College of Arts / University of Basrah organized a book fair on the occasion of the university week. The exhibition included displaying a collection of various scientific, historical and literary books, novels and short stories.

The Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul Ridha Al-Tamimi, said that the exhibition aims to spread awareness and diverse cultures, especially in our present time. Technology, communication, and the Internet have been relied upon and reading and books were neglected, and therefore we sought to restore interest in the book.
