On the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of the contemporary Islamic philosopher Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr, the Department of Philosophy at the College of Arts, in cooperation with the Al-Janoub Cultural Center, organized a scientific symposium entitled (Lights on the Thought of the Martyr Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr).
The symposium aims to explain the intellectual, philosophical and political aspects presented by the martyr Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr through his writings and lectures, especially intellectual issues of a political, intellectual and historical nature.
The symposium dealt with several themes, the most important of which are:
-The philosophical and intellectual dimensions of the Islamic state as presented by Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr.
-The Objective Interpretation of the Noble Qur’an by Sayyid Muhammad Baqir Al-Sadr.
-Historical Sunnahs in the Noble Qur’an.
The symposium touched on shedding light on the issue of the state and its foundation raised by Mr. Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr as well as the issue of historical patterns in the Qur’an and how the Qur’an referred to these laws, as well as the issue of objective interpretation as opposed to the partial interpretation of the Holy Qur’an.
