The Department of Philosophy at the College of Arts / University of Basrah organized a panel discussion entitled “Artistic Expression at Croce”.

The panel discussion, in which Dr. Ghaida Habib lectured, aims to shed light on the subject of the language of artistic expression in Croce's philosophy.

The panel discussion dealt with two main topics. The first topic dealt with the life and writings of the philosophers by whole Croce was influenced, and the second topic discussed the relationship between aesthetics, the language of intuition and the language of expression.

The panel discussion included the definition of Croce's science, as it was defined as aesthetics and general linguistics, because it is the science that focuses on the means of expression, and it is also a philosophical science, because the philosophy of language is synonymous with the philosophy of art. It ends with unification between intuition and expression, because one of the most important characteristics of true intuition for him is the possibility of its embodiment in expression.
