The Development and Education Center, in cooperation with the Department of History at the College of Arts / University of Basrah, organized a workshop entitled (The story of the killing of Ameer Al-Mu’minin, peace be upon him - between the narration of condolences and the vision of history).
The workshop, in which Prof. Dr. Jawad Kazem Al-Nasr Allah lectured, included the events of the killing of Ameer Al-Mu’minin, peace be upon him, which were dominated by the text of condolences, which was formulated in an emotional way, missing the historical truth and characterized by a misunderstanding of the Imam Ali, peace be upon him, as well as showing the Imam in a state of terror and fear at the time when we find the imam shouting, (I swear with the God of Kaaba that I won).
The workshop dealt with the hypotheses of who is responsible for the imam’s killing. The first hypothesis is a creedal reaction to the events of Nahrawan, which was represented by the meeting of the Kharijites in Mecca, the second showed that the imam’s killing because of the woman (Qatam) who stipulated that Ibn Muljam must kill the imam as a dowry for her, the third showed a conspiracy that included several parties in which Muawiyah, Ibn al-Aas and al-Ashath were involved, and Ibn Muljim was nothing but a tool for carrying out the conspiracy. Perhaps there are those who think that Ibn Muljim is not from the Kharijites, but rather is Muawiyah's creation and his tool to kill the Imam.
