Discussion of the Student Jassim Muhammad Ali Abdullah

At the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah, a master's thesis entitled (Quotation and inclusion in the al-Sahifa al-Sajjadiya., a stylistic study) was discussed.

The thesis presented by the student Jassim Muhammad Ali Abdullah included three chapters. The first chapter discussed the quotation in the al-Sahifa al-Sajjadiya, the second chapter included inclusion in the al-Sahifa al-Sajjadiya, and the third chapter discussed the functions of quotation and inclusion in the Al-Sahifa Al-Sajjadiya.

The thesis aims at extracting Qur’anic and other quotations related to the noble Prophet’s hadith included in Al-Sahifa Al-Sajjadiyah to identify the linguistic style that Imam Al-Sajjad (peace be upon him) had..

The quotations came according to sub-divisions that explain the work of these concepts within the text, with its two types: direct verbal and indirect moral quotation, and identifying the two types of inclusion contained in the al- Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya, the prose, and poetic inclusion through some texts of the book Nahj al-Balagha.

The thesis concluded that there are many Qur'anic quotations, both verbal and moral, among the formulations of Al-Durar Al- Sajjadiya, which gave this diversity a strength in the interdependence and consistency between the Qur'anic and Islamic texts through the unity of the context.  The methods of quotation  and inclusion in the  al-Sahifa al-Sajjadiya are included.
