Discussion of the student Alaa Oreibi Ghanem

At the Department of History at the College of Arts / University of Basrah, PhD thesis entitled ( The most prominent internal developments in Australia 1918-1945) was discussed.

The thesis presented by the student Alaa Oreibi Ghanem included four chapters. The first chapter discussed Australia from the declaration of the union until the end of World War I (1901-1918), the second chapter included the most prominent political, economic, and social developments from 1919 until the global economic crisis 1929, the third chapter discussed the most prominent political, economic and social developments since the global economic crisis in 1929 until just before the Second World War 1939, and the fourth chapter dealt with Australia and the effects of the Second World War 1939-1945 on the most prominent internal conditions.     

The thesis aims to identify the modern and contemporary history of Australia.

The thesis concluded that Australia became a well-known country after the end of World War I in 1918.

The thesis recommended that this study will open the way to historical studies to study the history of Australia after the Second World War.
