Under the patronage and presence of the respected President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, the presence and supervision of the  Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Hamid Al Kaabi, the presence of the General Supervisor, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Haider Abdul Redha Al-Tamimi, the presence of the General Coordinator, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs,  Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abdul Kazem, and the presidency and management of the president of the translation department, prof. Zainab Sami, the Department of Translation at the College of Arts Finishes the Proceedings on the First Day of its  First Annual Scientific Conference,  2021/2022 which continues for two days 25-26 May 2022 in the new conference hall at the College of Arts / the University of Basrah under the slogan (Language is the vessel of knowledge) and under the title (Bilingualism and Mental Perception).

The conference included many topics, including translation studies, linguistics, interpretation, social sciences, studies in social communication, literature, and other related fields. A group of professors of  the department and from various Iraqi universities and colleges participated in the conference, including the College of Arts at Al-Mustansiriya University, the College of Arts at the University of Mosul, the Shatt Al-Arab University College at the University of Basrah, and the Department of English at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah. Their valuable research and sober information covered all themes.

The conference included four research sessions, two sessions per day, distributed on the first day with three researchers in the first session and the same in the second session, and on the second day four researchers in the first session and two research in the second session, followed by the conclusion of the conference, recommendations and the distribution of certificates
