The University of Basrah Holds the Memorial Ceremony for the Martyr Sayyid Muhammad Muhammad Sadeq Al-Sadr (may God sanctify his soul)

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and in cooperation with Saraya Al-Salam in Basrah, and the presence of the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Hamid Al-Kaabi, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Haider Abdul-Ridha Al-Tamimi  and the leadership of the Saraya al-Salam Representation and many representatives of the offices of some deputies, under the slogan (Sayyid Martyr al-Sadr as a rebel, liberator and reformer) the memorial ceremony for the twenty-fourth anniversary of the martyrdom of the Islamic thinker and religious authority, Great Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr (may God sanctify his soul), was held on Wednesday, 8 June 2022 at Marla Hall in Bab Al-Zubair colleges complex.

 

The ceremony began with a fragrant recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by a student of the college of Arts Saleh Yahya and standing for listening to the Iraqi national anthem. Then the President of the University of Basrah presented the speech of the ceremony and welcomed the attendees. The ceremony included the fragrant biography of the late martyr and his national and religious stances and focused on the renaissance of Sayyid Martyr al-Sadr and its impact on the Iraqi religious, Islamic and social awareness, and confirmed the importance of the lessons deduced from the life of the martyr and blending them in the present to the battle of construction and development.  Perhaps the most important lessons are reform, courage, and a call for unity and self-sacrifice to chart a bright future for others and an enlightened intellectual output. He also talked about his founding role in building an Islamic state in Iraq based on respect for all components of the Iraqi people. 

For his part, Sheikh Ayed Al-Mayahi, representative of the  Command in Saraya Al-Salam in Basrah, delivered his speech and focuses on the role of the founding martyr Al-Sadr in thought.  As he wrote several books, and through his enlightened thought, the Islamic current at that time became an intellectual reality among the currents. After the speech ended, Sheikh Ayed, on behalf of the representative of Saraya Al-Salam in Basrah, presented a gift to the President of the University of Basrah, in appreciation of his efforts to advance the university and social reality.

  The memorial ceremony included the screening of a documentary film that revolved around the life of the martyr Sayyid al-Sadr (may God sanctify his soul).  The ceremony included poems from popular poetry, the first by the poet Ghazwan Al-Ghalbi, the second by the poet Al-Sayyid Alaa Al-Magashgash, and the reading of the operetta by the minstrels Ahmed Al-Saadi and Muhammad Al-Halfe to conclude the ceremony by honoring the contributors to the ceremony by Mr. Abdul-Zahra Al-Maryani, Commander of the Saraya Al-Salam in Basrah, after the university president presented him with an appreciative gift in appreciation of the efforts of the Saraya Al-Salam in Basrah.
