Discussion of the Student Razak Ajeel Dohi

On Sunday morning, 26 June 2022, in the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah a master's thesis entitled ( Arab Library Legislation: A Comparative Study ) was discussed.

The thesis presented by the student Razak Ajeel Dohi included four chapters, the first chapter dealt with the general framework of the study, the second chapter discussed the theoretical study, the concept of legislation, sources of law, the third chapter discussed the practical study, and the fourth chapter talked about the results and recommendations.

The thesis aims to identify the Arab library legislation ( Iraq , Egypt , Syria ) for national, public, university and school libraries and the destinations and years of their issuance .

The study concluded that:                            

1-the oldest legislation in the national libraries appeared in Syria, as it was issued in 1928, which is the Basic Law of the scientific complex and the National Library No. 135, which included ( 13 ) legal articles, followed by Egypt, as the first legislation was issued in ( 1956), which is Law No. 183 of reorganizing the Dar Al-Kottob Al-Masryyia and included ( 16 ) articles related to the National Library .

2-the special legislation of the National Library only mentions the sources of accreditation and financial funding .
