The research of the Higher Diploma at the Department of information and knowledge technologies at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah, entitled (The reality of the library of the Oil Training Institute / Basrah: a case study), was discussed.

The research presented by the student Wasan Abdel-Wadood Muhammad Ali included four chapters. The first chapter discussed the general framework of the research, the second chapter discussed the theoretical aspect of the research, which is on two sections (the first dealt with the nature of the dedicated academic library, and the second dealt with the types of information services ),the third chapter dealt with (the practical aspect first, the analysis of directed interview questions to the Deputy Director for Student Affairs and analyze the questions of the questionnaire addressed to the beneficiaries of the library) ,and the fourth chapter focused on the results, conclusions, recommendations and suggestions.

The thesis aims to identify the reality of the library of the oil Training Institute /Basrah.

The thesis concluded that the library lacks specialized human resources in the field of information and libraries.

The thesis recommended the need to provide specialized human resources in the field of information and libraries.
