On Wednesday, 19/10/ 2022, there was a great demand by students to visit the library of the College of Arts, especially after the tangible development in the library taken by the new administration, including equipping the library with the latest advanced equipment and cleaning operations that affected the library, which made it a suitable environment for students to visit.

The Director of  Library and the instructor in the History Department of the College of Arts at the University of Basrah, Prof. Alaa Kamel Saleh Al-Issawi, explained, “The Library of the College of Arts at the University of Basrah is one of the practical and educational pillars and the external and internal civilized interface of the university, as it is the main source for providing information to teachers, researchers, and students in terms of (books,  periodicals, theses) and it is one of the three sides on which the educational and academic movement at the university depends, in addition to the student and the university professor. The Library of the College of Arts also seeks to maintain a comfortable and safe educational environment for all its visitors.

The purpose of the visit was to learn how to preserve and index books, and to see the system followed in borrowing books and how to benefit from them in preparing research and academic studies. Dr. Alaa indicated that the library is on the verge of a great renaissance at various levels, and that it will be at the forefront of Iraqi universities' libraries, and not only at the University of Basrah, because it is the scientific interface of the prestigious College of Arts.
