An instructor in the Department of English at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah, the pioneering professor Rida Thanoun, participated in the annual festival of the Iraqi University, held by the Department of English at the College of Education for Women to honor the pioneering professors in the English language with the participation of (32) pioneers from various Iraqi universities.

The festival aims to appreciate the distinguished scientific efforts made by professors and to familiarize all Iraqi universities with the pioneers who served universities and gave their thought to light the path for future generations ,the festival also included several activities to rejoice the arrivals, as well as the achievements of the pioneering professors who were honored during the ceremony.
