Within the directives of the Deanship of the College of Arts regarding the need to hold counseling and guidance symposiums, the Educational Counseling and Psychological Guidance Unit organized a counseling symposium that included two topics; the first of them came under the title (Postgraduate students are the future’s beacon), and the second topic touched on (Pressures facing postgraduate students: causes and solutions).
The symposium, which was moderated by the teacher, Dr. Naima Latif Abdullah, and attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Haider Abdel-Ridha Al-Tamimi, and Assistant Professor Dr. Hana Sadeq Al-Badran, aims to identify the most prominent obstacles, difficulties and problems facing this educated segment and to find solutions to treat them.
Dr. Haider Al-Tamimi indicated that postgraduate studies are an important and clear indicator of the cognitive, cultural, scientific and civilizational progress of any society that relies on its cadres in scientific and human disciplines.
At the end of the symposium, the door for discussion and interventions was opened to answer the students' inquiries, and the participants in the symposium came out with several recommendations, the most important of which were:
1- Seeking to open classrooms inside libraries, and supply them with modern study resources.
2- Providing the necessary services for the students of the dormitory (internal departments).
3- Participation of postgraduate students in symposiums and conferences.
