The Department of History at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah held two seminars for postgraduate students in Islamic history, chaired by Prof. Dr. Jawad Kazem Munshed, and two seminars in modern and contemporary history, chaired by Prof. Dr. Nazim Rashim Maquq.
The seminars for the students included several topics, the most important of which are:
1_ The history of the Arabs before Islam, an oriental view in the circle of Islamic knowledge, a critical study for the PhD student (Farqad Tariq Ali).
2_ Quarantine in Andalusia (138_ 484). For the master student (Ayat Qassem Faleh).
3_ The political situation in the era of Al-Jahiz and its impact on his writings for the master student (Hafez Nima Charter).
4_ The First Battle of Kosovo, 1389 (historical study). For the master student Asma Faleh Hassan.
5_ Saudi opposition newspapers, Sawt al-Tali’ah magazine, as a model. For the master student, Mohamed Saleh Abboud.
In conclusion, discussions were made between the professors and the students then the professors presented their ideas and opinions with the aim of enhancing and supplementing the work of scientific researchers.
