The Department of Philosophy at the College of Arts / University of Basrah organized a panel discussion entitled  (The view of contemporary Islamic thought on the issue of freedom - Morteza Motahari as a model ) by Assist. Prof.Dr. Aqil Sadiq Zaalan.

In the panel discussion, the lecturer discussed several concepts in Islamic thought, centering on the following:

 

1 - The concept of freedom in Islamic thought.

 2- The concept of freedom according to the philosopher Morteza Motahhari.

 3- The categories of freedom according to Morteza Motahhari.

Dr. Aqil Sadiq touched on the explanation of the importance of the issue of freedom in Islamic thought, especially for the philosopher Morteza Motahhari, by raising topics related to issues of freedom, including:

 

1 - The relationship of freedom with man and society.

 2- Social freedom and its importance in human life.

 3- Moral freedom and its importance in human life.

 4- The relationship between social freedom and moral freedom.
