The Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah held a panel discussion to follow up on the completion of postgraduate students theses.

The panel discussion, in which each of (Professor Dr. Amal Saleh Al-Kaabi, Prof. Dr. Rashid Abd Rashid, Prof. Dr. Shukri Al-Hassan, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abdel-Wahhab Al-Asadi, and Prof. Dr. Najm Abdullah Rahim) participated, dealt with several topics, as follows:

1- Geomorphology of the floodplain fan using modern geographic techniques, by PhD student (Sarah Raad Makki), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abd al-Wahhab al-Asadi.

2- Geographical Analysis of Cardiovascular Diseases in Basrah Governorate, by Master student (Saja Majed Hamed), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Amal Saleh Abboud.

3- Some dynamic properties of soils of different textures in the districts of Qurna and Abi al-Khasib, and their agricultural effects, by Master student (Mareb Tawfiq), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Najm Abdullah Rahim.

4- The Hydrogeomorphological Evaluation of the Crescent Lakes of the Tigris River in Wasit Governorate, and Ways to Invest in Them Using Modern Geographical Technologies, by Master Student (Saba Saad Laith), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Najm Abdullah Rahim and Muhammad Abdul Wahhab Al-Asadi.
