The Scientific Cooperation Unit, in cooperation with the Scientific Society for Sustainable Educational Studies, and the Continuing Education Unit in the College of Arts at the University of Basrah, organized a scientific symposium entitled (The scientific environment is a national and moral duty).

The symposium, in which Assistant Professor Dr. Abdel-Razzaq Rahim Salal, Assistant Professor Dr. Hoda Dawood Najm, and Professor Dr. Amal Saleh lectured, aims to introduce the environment and its effects, ways to combat environmental pests, and the types of the visible environment.

The symposium included the importance of a clean environment in people's lives, and how to work on its sustainability by developing solutions and treatments for its problems, explaining the reasons for its emergence, and practical ways to combat it.

At the conclusion of the symposium, the researchers called for the following:

 1- The necessity of preserving a clean and sustainable environment.

 2- Spreading the culture of environmental awareness.

 3- Work on the ground, with various segments and classes, to induce a culture of clean environment and volunteer work.
