Within the frameworks of scientific cooperation between the colleges of the University of Basrah, the Department of Translation in the College of Arts at the University of Basrah received, on Thursday, 12/8/2022, a number of fourth stage students of the English Language Department in the College of Education / Qurna, under the supervision of assistant teacher Abbas Mohsen Saleh, on a visit  Scientific to the Translation Department.

 The student delegation was received by the Head of the Department of Translation, Prof. Dr. Zainab Sami Hawal, who gave them a brief overview of the department's establishment, undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and the scientific subjects taught in it.

   The visit included the students attending a fourth-stage legal translation lecture by the legal translation professor, Ahmed Faleh Rabie, in which he dealt with the characteristics of the legal discourse before starting the translation process, and the goals and objectives that lie behind the legal text.  At the end of the lecture, there was plenty of time to listen to the students' questions, which were answered by the lecturer.

    In conclusion, the two parties called to work on establishing similar visits, for other stages, between the departments of translation and the English language, and to strengthen the frameworks of scientific and cultural cooperation between the two departments.

    Then, the visiting students, accompanied by Mr. Abbas Mohsen Saleh, went to the English Department at the College of Arts to listen to a lecture on the aspects and skills of developing students' English language learning, and the importance of activating students' general culture skills, delivered by Prof. Dr. Shihab Ahmed Al-Nasser.
