The Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized a scientific trip to the farms of Al-Fares company in Al-Zubair district , for third-stage students within the field study curriculum , and under the supervision of Prof.Dr. Rashid Abd Rashid Al-Sharifi , Dr. Salem Jassim al-Jumaili , and Dr. Kholoud Kazem al-Jurani .

Mr. Muhammad Shaddad Al-Faris, the manager of the farm, gave a detailed explanation of the fields and stages of rose cultivation, scientific methods and the nature of adapting natural conditions to provide the requirements of cultivation. 

The nature of irrigation and desalination of groundwater was reviewed, as well as the reality of palm cultivation - the Barhi variety - and the field of Sidr trees, tomatoes, Bermuda grass, and other field observations.
