Under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul-Hamid Al-Kaabi, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul-Ridha Al-Tamimi, the semester exams for postgraduate students (Master’s and PhD) began in the College of Arts at the University of Basrah, totaling (19 Ph.D.  – 22 master ) for Arabic Language Department, (12 PhD – 41 master) for the History Department, (16) master students for the Geography and Geographic Information Systems Department, (13) master students for the Translation Department, and (4 PhD-19 master ) for the English Language Department, Thus, the total number of postgraduate students is (35) PhD students and (111) Master students.
