As part of its scientific and cultural activities, the Department of Translation at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah held its scientific symposium entitled (Translation from Different Perspectives), in which Prof. Dr. Kazem Khalaf Al-Ali, Prof. Dr. Ali Faisal Al-Manna (Hamad Bin Khalifa University), and Prof. Dr. Jassim Khalifa Sultan lectured.

The symposium, which was attended by professors and students of the translation department, included talk about translation efficiency, the development of translation ability, translation errors, the impact of technology on translation, and the multiplicity of translations.

The symposium included interventions by Professor Hashem Katea Lazem (Shatt Al-Arab University College), the writer Abd Al-Karim Al-Samer, the translator Hazem Qassem and a number of students who attended the symposium.
