Basrah University Holds an Introductory Cultural Symposium on (Sufism in the Kasnazanian Way)

Under the auspices of the respected Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Hamid Al-Kaabi, and under the supervision of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul-Ridha Al-Tamimi, the Public Relations and Media Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah, held an introductory cultural symposium entitled:  (Sufism in the Kasnazanian way).

The symposium, which was moderated by the Director of the Public Relations and Media Unit, the teacher, Dr. Zikra Muhammad Kazem, and prepared by the student, Ali Muhammad Zaki, aims to introduce the university community to the rituals of the Kasnazanian way, and to introduce the Kasnazan Cultural Council, and the history of Sufism in general and its association with the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, and to address the spiritual life and the relationship of the follower with God, and the role of Kasnazanian in keeping pace with the times.

The symposium was opened with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, then a chapter on chanting and Sufi poems was presented, Sufi melodies were played on the oud by the artist Ahmed Jassim, the poem Al-Burdah by the singer Aqeel Al-Basri, and a poem in praise of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, by the singer Osama Al-Madah.
