Discussion of the Student Hamid Hamed Abboud

A master thesis entitled (fish production and marketing in Basrah Governorate) was discussed in the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems at the College of Arts at The University of Basrah.

 

The thesis presented by student Hamid Hamed Abboud included four chapters. The first chapter discussed the qualitative composition of marine and river fish in the governorate of Basrah, the second chapter discussed the marketing system for fish produced in the governorate of Basrah, the third chapter included the geographical factors affecting the production and marketing of fish in the governorate of Basrah, and the fourth chapter dealt with problems related to fish production and marketing in the governorate of Basrah. 

The thesis aims to identify the reality of fish production and marketing in the governorate of Basrah and the problems of its marketing institutions and to find complementary alternatives that would solve these problems.

 

The thesis concluded that there are many types of river and sea fish that fall within the reality of production and marketing in the governorate , as well as the diversity of marketing institutions between the main and secondary and shows the need for government support to qualify markets and affiliated institutions as well as the total need for fish products for the residents of the governorate and areas that depend on them in other governorates.
