Researchers from the University of Basrah Participate in an International Scientific Conference in Duhok

Instructor staff in the Department of History at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah: (Professor Dr. Mishaal Mufreh Daher, Prof. Dr. Nazim Rashm Maatouk, Assistant Lecturer Hanadi Abdel-Azim Safar, and Assistant Lecturer Nisreen Salih Abu Hameed) participated in the research of the fourth international scientific conference held by the Imam Al-Kazim (p) College for Islamic Sciences/ Departments of Wasit in partnership with the College of Law at the University of Duhok, which was held under the title (The Role of Law and Human Sciences in Protecting and Empowering Women) with the participation of (110) researchers from inside and outside Iraq.

The research included talking about the efforts made to protect women and enable them to actively participate in the state and society.

The conference also discussed mechanisms for the development of women work and their access to the best opportunities.

 

The conference made several recommendations, including:

 1- The need to intensify efforts so that women can obtain their full rights.

 2- Urging the Iraqi Parliament to issue legislation that contributes to the empowerment and protection of women.
