The Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized a scientific field tour outside the classrooms for postgraduate students (Masters) in order to get to know the cultural heritage of the city of Basrah, which remained imprinted with its views and what it contains of structure and urban designs that tell the story of a city that grow over time towards its outskirts, to paint a beautiful picture of the city that falls asleep on the Shatt al-Arab, combining the present and the past.

On the other hand, the Natural Museum was visited to acquaint students with the wild and material life scattered in the various environments of Basrah Governorate.

At the end of the tour, the Civilizational Museum, located in the presidential palaces area, was visited, which tells the history of ancient civilizations in Iraq in general and Basrah in particular.
