Discussion of the Student Tuqa Mahmoud Mohamed’s Thesis

On Tuesday morning, 3/28/2023, in the Department of English Language at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah, the master's thesis entitled  (the effectiveness of non-verbal communication in English TV interviews) was discussed.

The thesis presented by the student, Tuqa Mahmoud Mohamed, included five chapters. The first chapter discussed the introduction, the second chapter dealt with the titles, the third chapter dealt with the theories used, the fourth chapter focused on data analysis, and the fifth chapter touched on the conclusions. 

The thesis aimed to show that the efficiency of the process of conveying the intentions of the interlocutors through non-verbal communication with the efficiency of verbal communication itself, and to explain how to reflect personalities and feelings through this type of communication. 

The thesis concluded that non-verbal communication occupies the largest part of the total interaction, and that the interlocutors often reflected their personalities and feelings without the need for verbal communication.
